Through a gift made possible by the generosity of Chase Bank, the Braunfels Foundation Trust is the owner of the property known as the Hinman House, a two-story stone house built in 1868 by blacksmith Heinrich Hinman, and located at 161 South Castell Avenue, New Braunfels, Texas. The Braunfels Foundation Trust provides this property rent free to serve as the home to Communities in Schools of South Central Texas (CIS). Communities in Schools support our public schools with on-site at-risk student programs in order to decrease the dropout rate.

In 2011 The Braunfels Foundation Trust made a $20,000 contribution to Communities in Schools of South Central Texas (CIS), a local non-profit that provides on-campus Site Coordinators to twenty-six schools from elementary to high school in four school districts in Comal and Guadalupe counties.
