The Braunfels Foundation Award for Good Citizenship is presented annually and is funded by the Harry and Christine Dierks Memorial Fund. It is awarded to one 8th grade boy and girl from each middle school in New Braunfels. Students are selected by a campus committee.
In order to be considered for this award, students must above all else demonstrate the qualities of good citizenship and ethical conduct. The committee also considers grades, school attendance, and extracurricular activities in and out of school, however, good citizenship is the primary consideration. The winners receive a framed certificate, a $250 gift card, and their names are permanently inserted on a plaque hanging in their respective schools.
